Our trustees

We have four committed trustees with a wide range of relevant experience

Helen Miskin

Helen is an accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapists (UKCP) through the Society of Existential Analysts (SEA). She has worked in the NHS for 20+ years, in charities and in private practice, as a psychotherapist, counsellor, trainer, manager and supervisor.

Kay Exton

Kay is an experienced Senior Social Worker and has worked in youth services, charities and a child protection team specialising in mental health, trauma and attachment. She is passionate about working alongside families and building communities. Kay now works part-time as a Specialist Attachment Practitioner for The Family Place Ltd. and provides a very helpful link role for the Board of Trustees. Kay withdraws from meetings when voting takes place to avoid any conflict of interest.

Aíne Venables

With a rich career in literature and arts education, Aíne is innovative and experienced in both creative programming and the provision of excellent creative opportunities to celebrate the power of active learning, reading for pleasure and family communication. Aíne’s experience in initiating and delivering dynamic and engaging projects means that she can support The Family Place Foundation to deliver excellent family-centred, inclusive experiences.

Jodi Pennington

Jodi has worked with children, adolescents and families as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS for 20 years. As part of teams in physical and mental health services, Jodi is interested in the impact of our early experiences and how therapeutic relationships can support individuals, groups and communities. Jodi currently works with mothers, babies and families in perinatal mental health. She enjoys finding ways to bring the outdoors and nature into clinical work to enhance psychological well-being.
